1.68 million new cancer cases are diagnosed each year in the United States. As of 2014, there are more than 14.5 million cancer survivors in the US. With the number of survivors continuously growing, there is an increasing need for resources and support to help them get back to everyday life and work after diagnosis and treatment. Attendees will learn: Results from a 2014 Harris Poll Survey capturing attitudes and opinions surrounding breast cancer in the workplace from multiple perspectives, including women with breast cancer, employers, and health care professionals. Workforce strategies and alternative work arrangements to support cancer patients and supplement their current benefits and return-to-work programs. Recently developed toolkit and interactive resource to support employers managing cancer in the workplace.
